Key Issues Session, Day 5

[Originally published 08.06.2013]

I’m not gonna lie, it was a little difficult for me to sit in morning sessions at the Institute after our sunrise hike at Loveland Pass. Thankfully, our facilitators planned some interesting hands-on labs for us to do. We worked in teams to test water from different sources in the community.IMG_7342 IMG_7347 IMG_7351 IMG_7353

Later in the morning, we participated in more interactive activities.IMG_7355

After lunch, we had had a mock townhall meeting. I played the role of “Concerned Parent”… I know, it was a stretch. I found this to be a very valuable exercise that I can use in my classroom with a variety of topics!IMG_7408 IMG_7411
At the end of the townhall meeting, we were all given our certificates. I can proudly say that I’m a graduate of Keystone Science School’s Key Issues Institute!
